What we believe

The Bible

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are verbally inspired by God, and they are without error in the original writing, and they are the supreme and final authority for faith and life.

God &
Jesus Christ

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. 11 Cor. 13:14

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is very God and very man. Isa. 9:6      Matt. 1:18-25

Man &
Salvation

We believe that man was created by special creation in the image of God and that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who have reached a moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word and deed.    Gen. 1:26    Jer. 17:9    Eph. 2:1-3

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for all sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice and that He rose again from the dead; and that all who believe on Him are justified once for all on the ground of His shed blood alone.    Lev. 17:11   Rom. 2:24-26   11Cor. 5:21   Eph. 1:7   Rom. 5:9-10   Rom. 4:25

Holy Spirit &
Separation

We believe that the Holy Spirit us a divine person who in His relationship to the unbelieving world, convicts of sin, righteousness, and judgement; that by His agency all who receive by faith and nature; that He seals, endures, guides, teaches, sanctifies, and helps the believer.    John 14:16-26;  16:7-11

We believe the Scriptures teach the importance of walking in the Spirit, being filled with the Spirit, and led by the Spirit into a life of separation from the world in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon our Lord and Savior.  Gal. 5:16   Eph. 5:18   11 Cor. 6:14-18   1 Cor. 9:25-27

Unity of Believers in Christ & Ordinances of the Church

We believe that the relationship of the believer to another in the church which is the body of Christ should be one in spirit and love for one another..   John 17:11   Rom. 12:5   1 Cor. 12:13

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ has left two ordinances to be observed by the church in commemoration of His person and work, and these ordinances are not necessary for salvation but are only symbols. The one is baptism of believers only by immersion in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. The other ordinance is the Lord’s Supper, as recorded in 1 Cor. 11:23-26.   Matt. 28: 19-20

Evangelism,
Stewardship,
& Future Life

We believe it is the obligation of the saved to witness by life and by words to the truths of the Holy Scriptures and to seek to proclaim the Gospel to all mankind.   Matt. 28:19-20

We believe that born again Christians should support the work of the Lord financially by faithful systematic giving; that the tithe (tenth) is a fair, proportionate, minimum taught in the Scriptures.  Matt. 21:12-13, John 2:13-16   Mal. 3:10   1 Cor. 16:2   11 Cor. 9         Gen. 14:18-20    Heb. 7:4-10

We believe in the “Blessed Hope”, the personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead, the saved to eternal life and blessedness, the unsaved to enteral damnation.  I Thess. 4:12-13, I Cor. 15:51-53, Rev.20:15

Human Sexuality & Marriage

We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex.  We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance.  (Genesis 2:24, 19:5,13;26:8-9, Leviticus 18:1-30, Romans 1:26-29, I Corinthians 5:1,6:9, I Thessalonians 4:1-8 Hebrews 13:4.

Marriage is a biblical institution established by God as described by Scripture. We believe the biblical ideal for marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment. Accordingly, this church’s pastors and staff will not officiate in same-sex unions or same-sex marriages, nor will its property or resources be used for such purposes. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. Gen. 2:24, Matt. 19:5-8, Ephesians 5:30-32.
